The best way to connect with others at Southside is through our small groups. Life Groups (for adults) and Sunday School (for children and students) are our strategy for changing lives through small groups. Click on the link below to see our Campus Map & Schedule.
In Southside KIDS, our strategy is to partner with parents to produce spiritually mature adults.
In Sunday School, kids are taught engaging lessons that help them understand the whole story of the Bible--the story of God coming to rescue his people.
On Wednesday night, our kids learn about missions and missionaries as well as do Scripture memory in RAs and GAs. Then, they have a great time singing and learning about God through music in graded children's choirs.
Our mission in student ministry is to partner with parents to equip students with the tools to grow in the process of discipleship into spiritual maturity. Students are taught how to study Scripture and apply the truth taught in the Bible.
The vision for student ministry is to create an opportunity for students to learn and apply biblical principles that will bring them into conformity to the image of Jesus Christ.
Students also have opportunities for fun, hanging out, serving, ministry, and missions through special events, activities, and trips.

Our King, Jesus Christ, is welcoming people form every culture, tribe, and nation on earth to look forward to that glorious day when He will establish His authority over earth. In Mathew 28:18-20, Jesus commanded the church to carry that message to the world so that those who would believe may come into the Kingdom of God. Southside Baptist church takes this commission seriously and we ask that our members participate in acts of obedience to fulfill Jesus’ commands. We want to be obedient by mobilizing the church to support the mission efforts that are planting churches locally, regionally, and internationally. Every believer is called of God to be a mobilizer and partake in God’s mission to reach the nations.
What Is It?
“Serve the City” is putting into action Jesus’ call to love our neighbors as ourselves. While we are called to do this every day, Southside will do this corporately by going out into the community to serve and love on them. The goal is simple: Love like Christ and expect nothing in return. Christ’s love will draw people to Himself.
What does it look like?
Southside will launch a mission trip into Suffolk.
We will send teams to work in neighborhoods and schools.
We will take VBS into the community.
We will deliver meals to our local public servants, such as the police and fire stations.
